STA, 4 July 2018 - MP Zmago Jelinčič has shrugged off the Azerbaijani scandal, in which he is accused of corruption and has been expelled from the Council of Europe (CoE) for life, as an effort to discredit him based on fake data. But the scandal has revived calls by the corruption watchdog and the TI Slovenia for a code of conduct for deputies.

STA, 4 July 2018 - Outgoing Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek said as he commented on today's vote on a settlement between the Croatian conglomerate Agrokor and its creditors that Mercator, as a part of the group, needed a stable and strong owner which would be able to support the needed development measures at the largest Slovenian retailer.

STA, 4 July 2018 - The north-eastern Pomurje region will get EUR 41.2m in development funds for 19 projects worth a total of EUR 53.5m under an agreement signed by the Pomurje Development Council and the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology on Wednesday.

STA, 4 July 2018 - A contract was signed on Wednesday for EUR 2m in state subsidies for a EUR 9.3m logistics centre the orchid grower Ocean Orchids plans to build in Dobrovnik (NE). Medicop, the Murska Sobota manufacturer of medical equipment and ambulances, will meanwhile get EUR 900,000 for a EUR 6.6m new warehouse and development hub.

STA, 3 July 2018 - A fire broke out on Tuesday morning in Hotel Union in the centre of Ljubljana, and has not yet been put out. Some 100 persons have been evacuated from the four-star hotel, but no-one was injured, the Ljubljana Police department said.
