Visitors from South Korea are the number one tourists to Slovenia from East Asia, a trend that looks likely to continue with the growing presence of television crews from the peninsula working in the country. In addition to Black Knight, which launched earlier this year, in recent weeks the capital has also been shown in Asia in a show that follows the exploits of a K-Pop band, Red Velvet (레드벨벳).

Season three of the series Level Up! is filmed in Slovenia, and while not all 40 (short) episodes are on YouTube, or able to be played outside Korea, there are enough to give you a taste of how the country is being shown to Asian viewers, with the helpful addition of English subtitles.

Here's the group in Ljubljana, and all the available episodes can also be found on one page, here.

To those unfamiliar with the conventions of East Asian television, the visual overload might seem confusing, but writing as someone who spent just under two decades in the region, this is rather standard fare.

And with news that another Korean team has now moved to the capital to shoot a reality series about life in the capital, you can be sure that Slovenia will be getting a lot more attention from Korea in the months ahead, so perhaps it’s time for enterprising soul to open a Korean barbecue place in the city to give such visitors a taste of home?

Well, a man can dream.
