STA, 13 June 2018 - Workers from Croatia will apparently get free access to the Slovenian labour market on 1 July because the parliament was dissolved before discussing the outgoing government's proposal to extend the restrictions.

STA, 22 May - Slovenia's economy has slowed down slightly in the first quarter of the year but remained well above the average of eurozone members, Banka Slovenije said on Tuesday in its macroeconomic trends review for May. It expects the investment cycle to continue, adding that the needs of the labour market are being met above all by foreign workforce.

STA, 15 May 2018 - Average net pay in Slovenia in March amounted to EUR 1,083, which is 1.6% more nominally and 1.3% in real terms than in February. It was up by 2.6% compared to March 2017, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.

STA, 10 May 2018 - The number of vacancies and occupied jobs rose in the first quarter of 2018, putting Slovenia's job vacancy rate at 2.5%, the highest since 2008, data released by the national Statistics Office (SURS) on Thursday showed. This reflects employers' complaints that workers are hard to find.

STA, 4 May 2018 - Increasing social benefits is not a solution to poverty, what needs to be done is create new jobs and secure decent pay. This view was shared by representatives of political parties who took part in a panel discussion on poverty, which was organised in Ljubljana on Friday as part of the European Minimum Income Network project.

STA, 1 May 2018 - Economic situation in Slovenia has improved but not because of the government, according to Marjan Trobiš, the president of the Employers' Association (Združenje delodajalcev Slovenije, ZDS, the Association of Employers of Slovenia). He believes the country will not be able to sustain the positive business trends without foreign workforce.
