STA, 28 July 2018 - Among the many tourists that visit Slovenia every year, an increasing number decide to go bear watching. In this potentially very dangerous undertaking, visitors must be accompanied by an experienced guide, usually a hunter. 

STA, 22 July 2018 - The passenger terminal at Koper, Slovenia's sole maritime port, is seeing another busy season, having already welcomed 41 passenger ships with a total of 46,500 passengers on board this year. 

STA, 15 July 2018 - Companies have from now on 160 million euro at their disposal to co-finance investments into tourist infrastructure from a special credit fund. 

STA - A shortage of quality staff in Slovenian hotels amid what is a strong boom period for the sector was highlighted as a key issue at a conference of hotel managers hosted in Portorož last Thursday by the Tourism and Hospitality Chamber of Slovenia. 

STB, 6 June 2018 - The latest national campaign launched by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) calls for visitors to share their feelings about Slovenia’s unique landscapes, activities and traditions on social media, along with beautiful images and videos using the hashtag #ifeelsLOVEnia. 

STA, 2 June 2018 - Around 1,152,000 persons or 66% of the total population of Slovenia aged 15 years or older went on at least one private trip last year. They went on around 4,288,000 private trips all together, which is 6% more than in 2016, the Statistics Office has reported. 

In an article headlined “Forget Croatia: Why You Need to Visit The ‘Real’ Balkans”, Bloomberg presents readers with five “under-the-radar” destinations in the region, thus offering some alternatives for those who don’t wish to join the annual migration to the land with one of the longest coastlines in Europe, and one tourist for each of it’s 4.2 million citizens. It also mentions Slovenia, and without using the term “hidden gem”.

STA, 28 May 2018 - Tourism officials who gathered on Monday at the Cerko ski resort, where 15 destinations and 11 travel accommodation facilities were welcomed into the green scheme of the Slovenian tourism, pointed out that Slovenian tourism should specialise in providing five-star experiences. 

STA, 18 May 2018 - The final 2017 tourism data by the Statistics Office confirmed today the continuing strong expansion of the sector in Slovenia. The number of overnight stays exceeded 12 million for the first time last year, reaching 12.6 million and surpassing the 2016 figure by 13%. Tourist arrivals were up 15% to 4.95 million, also a new record.
