STA 1 June 2018 - Six years after the first house searches related to the investigation of allegedly fictitious contracts signed to dupe a bank into granting a loan for the Stožice sports complex in Ljubljana, the prosecution has filed indictments against nine people, including Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković, POP TV reported on Thursday.

STA, 28 May 2018 - A police investigation in the suspected corruption surrounding the EUR 1.4bn upgrade of the Šoštanj coal-fired power station (TEŠ) has revealed that the generator no. 6 was overpaid by as much as half a billion euro, commercial broadcaster POP TV reported. Unofficially, this information will be used to reinforce the case against those responsible.

STA, 3 May 2018 - Slovenia is in the second place among the Council of Europe (CoE) members in the number of recommendations from the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), the CoE's anti-corruption monitoring body. With 21 recommendations, it trails only Armenia with 24, according to the latest annual report by GRECO (PDF), published on Thursday.
