Media reports suggest the sting is related to suspected abuse of funds at the Education Ministry in 2009-2010.

STA, 11 September 2018 - After the Constitutional Court quashed the retroactive impact of the 2011 act on the seizure of unlawfully gained assets in July, the prosecution has withdrawn several forfeiture cases, including against former Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler, with media reports saying Janez Janša is among those who are to be let off the hook.

STA, 6 August 2018 - The Specialised Prosecution Service filed an indictment against 15 individuals who were allegedly involved in a scheme in which doctors were paid kickbacks by medical equipment suppliers.

STA, 4 July 2018 - MP Zmago Jelinčič has shrugged off the Azerbaijani scandal, in which he is accused of corruption and has been expelled from the Council of Europe (CoE) for life, as an effort to discredit him based on fake data. But the scandal has revived calls by the corruption watchdog and the TI Slovenia for a code of conduct for deputies.

STA, 29 June - A total of 14 former members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), including Slovenian MP Zmago Jelinčič, have been banned from the Council of Europe for life due to their engagement in corrupt activities with Azerbaijan.
