STA, 10 May 2018 - Slovenia exported EUR 7.5bn worth of goods in the first quarter of 2018, which is a 9.3% rise compared to the same period in 2017. Imports reached EUR 7.3bn or 9% more than a year ago. Trade surplus topped EUR 155m and the exports-to-imports ratio was 102%, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.

STA, 9 May 2018 - Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković, the head of Positive Slovenia (PS), and head of the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) Karl Erjavec have signed an agreement establishing a "left bloc". The main point of the agreement is the commitment that the parties in the bloc will not form a coalition with the centre-right Democrats (SDS).

STA, 10 May 2018 - The number of vacancies and occupied jobs rose in the first quarter of 2018, putting Slovenia's job vacancy rate at 2.5%, the highest since 2008, data released by the national Statistics Office (SURS) on Thursday showed. STA, 9 May 2018 - Household appliance group Gorenje chose a strategic partner on Wednesday after receiving three binding bids the day before. The management announced it had chosen Chinese group Hisense, which offered EUR 12 per share. Based on the number of existing shares in late March, the deal will exceed EUR 146.5m for 50% plus one share.
