STA, 2 July 2018 - Slovenian high-tech startup NERVteh has received a US$1.2m capital injection from VectoIQ, a US investment fund specialised in technology driven companies focused on autonomous vehicles and smart transportation, the Startup Slovenija initiative said on Monday. 

The fresh capital is intended for the development and marketing of advanced technologies in the fields of driver assessment and trailing and the testing of algorithms for autonomous driving.

NERVteh, which has been specializing in vehicle simulator technologies in the fields of biometric and cognitive driver evaluation, machine learning and data integration, wants to develop its sales network and secure major deals with the leaders in the auto and insurance industries.

The company is known internationally for its state of the art drive simulator, which is considered extremely realistic and is equipped with a number of psychophysiological sensors that enable the profiling of drivers for the auto industry, road safety organisations, the insurance industry etc.

Its services are used by leading Slovenian players as well as by the likes of Ford Motor Company. The firm, which was launched in 2013 and has a 20-strong team, has also been in talks with Google.
