As reported by STA, Adria Airways is likely to end a second year in the red, after posting a net loss of €5.4m in 2017, with the company blaming the poor results on fuel prices. However, despite a number of cancellations in recent weeks, the carrier is still planning to operate 171 weekly flights to a total of 21 destinations this winter, as detailed in the company’s latest schedule, which runs from October28 to March 30.

New destinations this winter include a number held over from the summer, namely Bucharest, Düsseldorf and Sofia. In addition to these, daily flights will also be available to Amsterdam, Brussels, Vienna, Frankfurt, Moscow, Munich, Podgorica, Prishtina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tirana and Zurich. Adria also plans to operate flights from Padeborn-Lippstadt to London, Vienna and Zurich, with this Padeborn-Lippstadt being a small airport east of Dortmund in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia.

In related news, the STA also reports that 4k Invest, a German financial fund, is planning to recapitalise Adria to the tune of at least €10m, while the carrier will also undergo restructuring to ensure its survival. The recapitalisation was demanded by the Civil Aviation Agency due to Adria's poor financial status.
