NK Olimpija Ljubljana have signed the Nigerian striker Chinedu Udechukwu, as reported on completesportsnigeria.com. At present the 23-year old has only signed a one-year deal, and is on loan from the Nigeria Professional Football League club Katsina United.

Udekukwi is the third player from Africa to be part of Olimpija’s current team, joining Eric Boakye and Abass Issah, both from Ghana, with the latter responsible for the winning goal in the squad’s most recent game against Triglav.

The Ljubljana-based team are presently at the top of the national league, with 52 points from 22 games, although Maribor, just four points behind, still have a game to play. Olimpija’s next game is against Rudar, and will be played Wednesday, March 14, at Stožice
