Slovenian House in PyeongChang officially open
The Slovenian House, a meeting point of Slovenian athletes, fans, sports officials, business executives and other visitors at the Olympics, officially opened with a ceremony that featured renowned guests, including former UN Sec-Gen Ban Ki-moon and the president of the International Automobile Federation, Jean Todt.
Medals out of reach for Slovenian ski jumpers
Ski jumpers Peter Prevc and Tilen Bartol finished 12th and 16th, respectively, on the normal hill. Gold went to Germany's Andreas Wellinger, silver to Johann Andre Forfang of Norway and bronze to his countryman Robert Johansson. Another Slovenian jumper, Jernej Damjan, was 28th, while Timi Zajc did not make it to the finals and finished 33rd.
Two Slovenians in the women's biathlon sprint fail to rank among top thirty
Anja Eržen and Urška Poje, the two Slovenians competing today in the women's 7.5-kilometre biathlon sprint, finished 46th and 75th. The race was won by Germany's Laura Dahlmeier, who added her first Olympic biathlon gold to her seven world titles. Dahlmeier was followed by Norwegian Marte Olsbu and Czech Veronika Vitkova.
Slovenia's Slabanja finishes 59th in the women's skiathlon cross-country race
Manca Slabanja, the only Slovenian competitor in the women's 15-kilometre skiathlon cross-country race, finished second to last. Gold went to Charlotte Kalla of Sweden, Marit Bjoergen of Norway won silver and Krista Parmakkoski of Finland bronze.
