STA, 2 February, 2018 - Azerbaijan and Ukraine made it into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Futsal Euro by beating France 5:3 and 3:2, respectively, as both teams opened their campaigns in Group D and Group C in Ljubljana on Friday.
It was Bolinha's hat-trick that powered Azerbaijan in their win against Futsal Euro debutants France, who lost almost all chances of advancing after drawing their first match against reigning European champions Spain.
Azerbaijan coach Alesio Da Silva promised that his team would go for a win against Spain on Sunday even though the team had already qualified for the play-offs, but noted that Spain had good chances of advancing too.
In the second match of day 4 of the tournament, Ukraine made a complete turnaround after trailing
Romania 2:0 to make it to the knock-out stage, eliminating Romania from the tournament in the process.
