STA, 11 September 2018 - After the Constitutional Court quashed the retroactive impact of the 2011 act on the seizure of unlawfully gained assets in July, the prosecution has withdrawn several forfeiture cases, including against former Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler, with media reports saying Janez Janša is among those who are to be let off the hook.
STA, 10 September 2018 - After an investigating judge ordered the releasee of the self-styled militia leader Andrej Šiško last night having found there was no risk of re-offence, the decision will now be re-examined by a judging panel of the Maribor District Court. The panel needs to decide with 48 hours.

STA, 4 September 2018 - Outgoing Interior Minister Vesna Györkös Žnidar has joined the strong condemnations of an attempt to form a paramilitary unit in the Štajerska region. She said any kind of parallel armed structures, spreading of hate and undermining of the Constitution and law were completely unacceptable.
STA, 4 September 2018 - Interior minister candidate Boštjan Poklukar said his priorities would be control of migration and fighting crime as he presented himself to the relevant parliamentary committee. He said he was aware that the migration pressure remained a global challenge, which was also present in Slovenia given the large number of illegal crossings of the border.
STA, 4 September 2018 - Foreign minister nominee Miro Cerar wants Slovenia to have an open, balanced and more uniform foreign policy. In his hearing at the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday he also pledged to strive for the implementation of the Croatian border arbitration decision. Cerar was backed with nine votes in favour and none against.
