"Battle for work won. Battle for quality follows": The number of registered unemployed persons continues to drop, with pundits saying that Slovenia will no longer have problems with high unemployment rate, but shortage of qualified staff. (front page, 3)

"Minister Fakin enrages doctors": Doctors are angry with the new Health Minister Samo Fakin for endorsing changes under which doctors without licences will no longer be able to write prescriptions for medications to themselves as of 13 October. (front page, 2)

"Compensations on Markovec nearing epilogue": Subcontractors in the Nokturno housing development on Markovec Hill near Koper could lose the apartments they were given as compensation from the investor GPG Inženiring, as they are being claimed by the Bank Assets Management Company (BAMC). Aljaž Tower restored
"On Triglav, everything is like it should be again": The Aljaž Tower storm shelter was returned yesterday with a helicopter to the top of Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav, after undergoing repairs for almost four weeks. (front page, 11)

"Slovenia planning transport revolution, but it remains only on paper for now": The European Parliament voted yesterday to introduce stricter standards for new personal cars and light commercial vehicles. This could help Slovenia reach the set goals regarding greenhouse gas emissions from transport. (front page, 3)

Central bank governor selection
"Lame support for Dolenc, the governor candidate": It will likely turn out at today's session of the parliamentary Privileges and Credentials Commission that President Borut Pahor's candidate for the central bank governor, Primož Dolenc, does not enjoy sufficient support in parliament to get appointed. Aljaž Tower restored
"Triglav gets its tower back": After just under a month of restoration work, the Aljaž Tower storm shelter has been returned to the top of Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav. "The tower is ready for another 100 years," said the director of Kov, the company in charge of the restoration work. (front page, 32)

Staffing
"Police commissioners on the chopping block": As the government is to decide today whether to replace Simon Velički as the police commissioner, the paper notes that changes at the helm of the Slovenian police are (too) frequent. (front page, 2-3)

Mountain biking
