Arrests of members of alleged para-military unit
"Extremism or how Šiškos are created": The head of an alleged para-military group in the Štajerska region, Andrej Šiško, wore a grin as he was arrested yesterday. Police are in for a lot of work to process all the members of the group. (front page, 3, 5)

Mercator results
"Torments of the biggest retailer": The retailer Mercator generated a loss of EUR 380,000 in the second quarter of the year, one of the peaks of the season. Investments were also scarce. (front page, 10)

Ministerial hearings
"Šarec's got green light": Sixteen old and new faces presented themselves as ministerial candidates in parliament in the past few days. One of them, candidate for public administration minister, already got a red card from PM Marjan Šarec. (front page, 2)

Film
"Filmmakers taking future in their own hands": The Association of Slovenian Filmmakers presented its 60-point national programme for film 2018-2023 yesterday, pointing to the absence of such a programme in Slovenia. (front page, 4)

Rog culture centre
"They could not give keys to the municipality": Two members of the Rog counterculture centre who have lost a legal battle against the Ljubljana municipality over the use of the once abandoned industrial facility, have moved out of Rog. But municipal officials failed to come to collect the keys as agreed. (front page, 9)

Arrests of members of alleged para-military unit
"Šiško and member of SDS youth wing arrested": After Saturday's training of a group calling itself Štajerska Guard, police conducted five house searches yesterday and apprehended two suspects, the group's head Andrej Šiško and another man, whose identity has not been revealed but Dnevnik's sources say is a prominent member of the youth wing of the Democrats (SDS). (front page, 4)

"Football: Slovenia open Nations League with 1:2 loss to Bulgaria": Slovenia opened their campaign in the UEFA Nations League, the new international competition which replaces international friendly matches, by losing to Bulgaria in Ljubljana's Stožice Stadium 1:2 on Thursday. (front page, 19)

"Top offices at auctions": The paper presents the upcoming auctions of offices with asking prices ranging from EUR 8,000 to almost EUR 745,000. (front page, 8-9)

Finance minister candidate
"Andrej Bertoncelj: We need comprehensive tax reform": Andrej Bertoncelj, the candidate for finance minister, said as he was grilled by the parliamentary Finance Committee yesterday that one of his priorities will be a comprehensive, budget-neutral tax restructuring.
