Greece fires
"Greek tragedy - a test of European unity": The raging fires in Greece have shown that European solidarity is not dead ink on paper: while member states frequently fail to reach agreement, they stand ready to help when natural disasters occur. (front page)

Trump-Juncker meeting
"Trade deal despite pessimism": EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and US President Donald Trump have reached an agreement to avoid deepening the trade dispute. The EU and US will cooperate in reducing tariffs on industrial goods, while the EU will increase the imports of US soy and natural gas. (front page, 3)

"Satellites in orbit, water on Mars": It was a big day for the European Space Agency yesterday as it first launched an Ariane rocket with four satellites on board, and announced just hours later that the Mars Express satellite had discovered liquid water below the surface of Mars. (front page, 5)

"Congestion in Ljubljana not serious at all": A ranking by mapping company Tomtom shows Ljubljana ranked 350th for congestion among 390 cities. On average travel time gets extended by only 16% in the event of congestion, in the worst cities it may get up to 60% longer. (front page, 9)

Juncker-Trump meeting
"Junker seeking to prevent trade war by visiting Trump": EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker met US President Donald Trump in an effort to prevent a trade war. Juncker said the EU and US were not enemies but allies that needed to collaborate. (front page)
