STA, 13 July 2018 - Police apprehend 33 illegal migrants in the south-east of the country on Thursday - 22 in the Črnomelj area, eight near Dolenjske Toplice and three in the Kočevje area. 

The 22 people apprehended by the Črnomelj police are still being processed.

Near Dolenjske Toplice, a 37-year-old Macedonian citizen was caught transporting seven citizens of Pakistan who entered the country illegally in his car.

He was charged with illegal crossing of the border, while the Pakistani citizens will be handed over to Croatian police after being processed by Slovenian police, officials from the Novo Mesto Police Department said.

In the Kočevje area, police caught three citizens of Iran after they illegally crossed the border. All three will be processed and then returned to Croatia, according to the Ljubljana Police Department.
