"Staff drought decreases tourism yield": Slovenia is looking at a fourth year of higher turnover in tourism in a row, but the biggest risk, in addition to insufficient investment in development of infrastructure, is the shortage of adequate staff. (front page, 4)

Migrations
"For Frontex on Slovenian-Croatian border": Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann has requested a mission of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, also known as Frontex, on the Slovenian-Croatian border to stem illegal migration. (front page, 3, 6)

FIFA World Cup
"Russians bid farewell like national heroes": Russians were not disappointed for long after losing to Croatia in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup on the home turf. More than 40,000 fans greeted them in front of the Moscow State University. (front page, 17-20)

Migrations
"Hundred new cases of rejected refugees": The media have found out that the police are forcedly rejecting asylum seekers in Bela Krajina (NE) on the border with Croatia, which is strictly forbidden by international law. The police have denied these reports. (front page, 2)

Ljubljana streets
"Gosposvetska Street still not fully driveable": While the city authorities had announced that Gosposvetska Street in the centre of Ljubljana would be opened by now after major renovations, citizens will have to wait for a bit more. (front page)

Bad bank
"From luxurious villas to retirement homes": The real estate being sold by the Bank Asset Management Company (MSB) is very diverse, ranging from luxurious villas in Savudrija on the Croatian coast, hotels in Pohorje and a retirement home in Vrtojba. (front page, 3)

Car sales
"New record reached, higher prices in autumn": A total of 41,404 new cars were sold in Slovenia in the first half of 2018, which is an all-time record. The biggest growth in sales was recorded in sport-utility vehicles (SUVs). (front page, 2-3)

Healthcare
"Dreams about child heart surgery programme - five wake-up points": The paper analyses the outgoing government's proposal for changes to the medical practitioners act with which it wants to save the child heart surgery programme in Slovenia. (front page, 6-7)

Banks
"NKBM can make acquisitions again": The central bank Banka Slovenija has lifted the ban for the NKBM bank to merge with other banks as it had introduced measures after several years related to risk management and money laundering. (front page, 5)

Tourism in Maribor
"Breathtaking dives": The past weekend in Maribor has shown that interesting events attract a lot of people. One of these were a competition in diving from the main bridge over the Drava river in the country's second-largest city. (front page, 8-9)

Traffic jams
"Experience does not lie": The national motorway company was right when it recommended that drivers take a route across Hungary if they want to reach Zagreb from Maribor faster. The route was one hour faster than the usual one, over the Gruškovje border crossing, because of long queues on the border. (front page, 2-3)

Accidents
"LKF Ptuj sawmill again in flames": A fire broke out in the LKF Ptuj sawmill on Saturday, with the damage being estimated at between EUR 100,000 and EUR 200,000. This is a second fire in the company in a year. (front page, 13)
