STA, 6 June 2018 - Jalla Jalla, a popular meeting place at the Metelkova alternative culture centre in Ljubljana, went up in flames last night after the club's porch was set on fire. The police have already apprehended a 25-year-old suspect.

The club, which was closed at the time, had been built as a wooden extension to a building in Metelkova and quickly caught fire.

"The exterior of the club is completely destroyed, and the inside somewhat less due to a quick and effective response by firefighters," the club said on its Facebook page.

Nearly 20 firefighters fought the flames which completely engulfed Jalla Jalla.

The Jalla Jalla team has already started cleaning up and determining the damage, the post reads. Media reports estimate the damage at thousands of euros.

The fire also spread to the roofing of the adjoined building, but firefighters contained it before it could do serious damage to the woodworking workshop in the building.
