Let’s go to the beach.

March 31, 2018

This week’s trip the archive has brought back a collection of postcards from Portorož, part of Slovenia’s small but perfectly formed Adriatic coast, along with Strunjan, Izola, Piran, Koper, Ankaran and, in the past, Trieste (or Trst, as it’s known in Slovene). The images speak for themselves, and if you know the area you’ll see what’s changed and what’s stayed the same, such as Hotel Palace, although since 2008 it’s been known as the Kempinski Palace Portorož.

And if you’ve never been to the Slovene coast, then perhaps it’s time to start planning a vacation.
