Photochrome (aka Fotochrom, Photochrom, and the Aäc process) is a method of producing colour photographs, or perhaps more properly colourised images, that was invented in the 1880s. A variant of chromolithography, it achieved great popularity when coupled with the emergent technology of postcards, then gradually faded from use as regular colour film was introduced and became more commercially viable.
