Almost three weeks of cultural events for children and teens.

January 20, 2018

The annual Bobri (Beavers) festival aimed at the cultural and artistic education of children and teens has started today, January 20 2018, and will end on February 8, 2018.

The festival offers a plethora of workshops and shows in various art forms, such as theatre, dance, music, storytelling and film.

Morning shows are generally reserved for schools and other institutions, while afternoon shows are open to the general public. As theatres have a limited number of in seats, tickets are required to enter each show, although these are free.

These tickets can be obtained at either each show’s venue one hour before the start of the performance, or at Mladinsko Theatre (MG) ticket office at Trg francoske revolucije 5 (near Križanke but not in Križanke – next to Petit Café).

The MG box office is open from 12:00 to 17:30 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. It is possible to get information on ticket availability via their phone number, which is 01 425 33 12.

The full schedule and other information is available in Slovenian at the Bobri website.

The festival organisers advise parents to pay attention to the age that is recommended for each show or workshop. In a brief programme overview below, (the full PDF file can be found here) these ages are written as the first set of numbers on the right, followed by the time each show lasts and the page on which you can find the description of the show (Slovenian only):

Apart from its home city of Ljubljana, the Bobri Festival will also be hosted in Domžale and Sežana. The schedules can be found on pages 100-103.
