Old Photos: The Load-Bearing Characteristics of Country Folk in the Mid-20th Century

This week we take a welcome break from old buildings and the city, and instead turn our eye to the human element, and specifically the load-bearing characteristics of country folk in the mid-20^th century. Since each of these pictures tells their own story we’ll just post them here the simplest of captions, all the better to let your mind wander.
