Cutting edge music and art around town.

September 22, 2018

The 10th edition of the Sonica Festival will soon be upon us, this year with theme of over/sensitivity. This refers to many things, not least of which is the current, rather precarious nature of the festival, now that it’s funding has been cut. Still, such issues are a concern for the organisers, rather than audiences, who can enjoy, per the official website: “six exceptional evenings at the intersection of sound and art. From the gloomy folk to transcendentally-meditative club music, from the rowdy fusion of punk and industrial techno to new loops, from Persian techno apocalypse to the subtle acoustics of water, from microchip compositions to the ephemeral and undefined searches of one’s sensitivity.”

The shows will take place at different venues around town, including Pritljiče, Klub Monokel, Cankerjev dom, Koncertina Dvorna Rog, Kino Šiška, and the Museum of Modern Art’s Metelkova branch, while the full programme can be found here, and the Facebook events page is here.
