What colour will its new coat be?

The Aljaž Tower was placed on the summit of Triglav in 1895, but has now been taken down for a few weeks to give it some much needed repairs, thus ensuring that it can continue to provide shelter, and a recognisable object to pose beside, for at least another 123 years.

But the story set out above doesn’t mean the tower has remained unchanged over the decades, or simply deteriorating from it’s original, pristine condition. No, it’s had several coats of paint over the decades, and not always in the same colour as today’s bright white with some pale blue highlights, as seen in the photos that follow.
