Incidence occurs at NLB Montenegrobanka.

STA, February 24, 2018 – A Slovenian banker has lost his bank licence in Montenegro after saying the country was worse than Burkina Faso, Slovenian media reported.

Robert Kleindienst, the head of NLB's subsidiary NLB Montenegrobanka, made the comment several days ago at a session of the Podgovica chapter of a Slovenian business club.

He later apologised and said he made the statement not in the name of NLB but as a private individual, but the Montenegrin central bank still revoked his licence.

Kleindienst, who came to Montenegro in 2012, has already been relieved of his duties on the bank's management board, business daily Finance reported.
