Adria Airways Takes on Extra Planes for New Routes

New turboprops from the bankrupt Darwin Airline.

Ex-Yu Aviation reports that Adria Airways is to take over the Saab 200 turboprops that were operated by it’s now bankrupt subsidiary Darwin Airline. The aircraft are expected to enter service in March, and will enable Adria to fulfill it’s expanded schedule of flights.

These new routes, along with their starting dates, are as follows:

March 25: Ljubljana – Sofia

March 25: Ljubljana – Bucharest

March 25: Ljubljana – Hamburg

March 26: Ljubljana – Geneva

April 27: Ljubljana – Dubrovnik

April 28: Ljubljana – Brač

In the same report, Ex-Yu Aviation noted that Slovenia’s national carrier saw a 10% increase in passenger numbers in 2017, up to 1.2 million, with more details available here.
