The STA reports January 18, 2018, that the government plans to set up a national one-stop shop to offer support to Slovenian exporters as well as foreign investors. The Government Office for Development and Cohesion Policy has already decided to co-fund the project, which is estimated at 11.8 million euro.

The majority of the funds, 8.6 million euro, will come from the European Regional Development Fund, the Office said on Thursday.

The new business centre will offer micro, small and medium-sized companies all-round support to make them more competitive on foreign markets.

The support will come in the form of information, promotion and advice as well as mentorship and training.

According to the office, it is important to introduce new programmes to encourage entrepreneurship, foreign investment, internationalization and technological development, and improve the existing ones.

This should result in a better supporting environment, facilitating the establishment of new companies and improving operations of the existing ones.

The project is based on the government's One-Stop Shop strategic document, and will be managed by the SPIRIT agency for entrepreneurship, internationalization, foreign investment and technology.
