Adria Reports 8.6% Rise in Passengers in First Half of Year

STA, 30 August 2018 - The Slovenia-based air carrier Adria Airways reported on Thursday an 8.6% rise in passenger numbers for the first half of the year. 

Adria serviced 577,233 passengers, while it performed almost 10,000 flights, a 2.4% increase compared to the first half of 2017.

The former flag carrier, which was acquired by the German turnaround fund 4K Invest in 2016, also substantially increased the number of flights performed for other airlines, reporting more than 3,300 for the firs six months.

The passenger seat occupancy rate improved by about 2% to 63.9% and operating revenue rose by 17.7%.

Adria CEO Holger Kowarsch said the company had faced a number of challenges in the first six months and would preserve its focus on stable and sustainable growth during the upcoming winter season.
