Youth Olympics: Slovenia Wins Kayaking Gold, Bringing Medal Count to 8 in Buenos Aires

The Youth Summer Olympics are currently taking place in Buenos Aires, and a second young Slovene will now be bringing home a piece of gold, as Lan Tominc finished in first place in the men’s kayak obstacle slalom, followed by China’s Changheng Guan, and with France’s Tom Bouchardon in third. 

Slovenia has so far won eight medals at the Games, two gold (Lan Tominc, men’s kayak obstacle slalom; Kaja Juvan, tennis, women's singles), two silver (Toni Vodisek, sailing, men's kiteboarding - ika twin tip racing; Vita Lukan, sport climbing, women's combined), and four bronze medals (Metka Lobnik, judo, women -78 kg; Neža Klancar, swimming, women's 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle; and Tina Celik, swimming, women's 50m breaststroke).
