World Food Day
"Solutions to producing more and better": World Food Day, 16 October, again brings sad statistics, as the number of chronically undernourished people has decreased for the third year in succession to top 820 million. (front page, 4-5)

NLB privatisation
"NLB privatisation nearing the finish line": The NLB bank has released an intention to float, a key step in the impending privatisation of the country's largest bank. The bank's shares could be available to potential buyers next month. (front page 2)

Photo exhibition
"Wild bulls, spinning pigs and beer flowing": An exhibition of photographs capturing local firefighters' parties around the country taken by Delo photo journalist Voranc Vogel will open tonight at the Museum of Contemporary History (front page, 13)

Public sector pay
"Those with lower education get better pay in public sector": People with secondary and tertiary levels of education receive lower pay in the public sector than they would in the private, while those doing simple work are better paid in the public sector. (front page, 2-3)

Waste management crisis
"Emergency transport of waste packaging should start in February": The Environment Ministry has drawn up an emergency bill to address the issue of packaging waste piling up at waste management companies. Under the proposal, which was sent into public consultation on Friday, the transportation of waste could start in February. (front page, 5)

Denationalisation
"Codelli's granddaughter did not live to get compensation": After 26 years, the Culture Ministry granted the descendants of Baron Anton Codelli the right to compensation over denationalisation. Codelli's granddaughter Livia Barbo had hoped for this kind of outcome of the dispute with the state all her life, but was buried this Saturday. (front page, 10, 14)

"Cerklje na Gorenjskem - top municipality of 2018": The paper has analysed the 212 Slovenian municipalities to find the one with the highest standard of living. Based on numerous criteria, the winner is Cerklje na Gorenjskem. (front page, 2-3)

Health
"ZZZS planning to squeeze pharmacy more": The ZZZS health fund plans to introduce new measures to manage the costs of expensive hospital medicines. The ZZZS says the measures will not affect patients and doctors but the pharmaceutical industry. (front page, 6-7)

NLB privatisation
"All about sale of NLB shares": The NLB bank released an intention to float on Monday, a key step in the impending privatisation of the country's largest bank. If everything goes according to plan, subscription of shares will be held in early November and the stocks will be floated in Ljubljana and London by mid-November. (front page, 4)

Medical achievements
"Without surgical cut": UKC Maribor has recently performed its first non-surgical implantation of aortic valve. The procedure, called transcatheter aortic valve replacement or implantation, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure by which the replacement valve is wedged into the old valve's place by using a catheter. (front page, 5)

Waste management
"Slovenia on the verge of ecological disaster": The environment minister proposes an emergency bill which envisages a state intervention if packaging waste starts piling up at waste management companies. (front page, 4)

Local election
"As many as 16 candidates for Maribor mayor": The paper expects the race for Maribor mayor to be one of the most interesting in this local election, because as many as 16 candidates will be vying for the post. (front page, 2-3, 10-11, 13)
