STA, 3 September 2018 - The average increase in consumer prices in Slovenia between 2000 and 2017 was just below 64%, according to a report from Eurostat released on Monday. In this respect, Slovenia trails only six countries in the EU.

STA, 31 August 2018 - Driven by external trade, Slovenia's economy expanded by 3.8% in the second quarter over the same period a year ago, while the seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 4.3% year-on-year and by 0.8% from the previous quarter, the Statistics Office (SURS) reported.

STA, 12 July 2018 - The European Commission's summer forecast, released on Thursday, projects Slovenia's GDP to grow by 4.4% in 2018 and by 3.5% in 2019, a downgrade of 0.2 and 0.1 percentage points respectively compared to the February forecast.

STA, 5 July 2018 - The Slovenian central bank has upgraded the outlook for the Slovenian economy for 2019. It predicts that GDP will expand by 4.6% this year, up from its winter forecast of 4.2%, with growth slowing to 3.9% next year and 3.4% in 2020.

STA, 31 May 2018 - Inflation in Slovenia rose by 0.5 points to 2% at the annual level in May, mainly due to higher prices of food, and fuels and energy, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. This is the first time since February last year that prices rose more than 2% at the yearly level.

STA, 15 May 2018 - Average net pay in Slovenia in March amounted to EUR 1,083, which is 1.6% more nominally and 1.3% in real terms than in February. It was up by 2.6% compared to March 2017, the Statistics Office reported on Tuesday.

STA, 10 May 2018 - Slovenia exported EUR 7.5bn worth of goods in the first quarter of 2018, which is a 9.3% rise compared to the same period in 2017. Imports reached EUR 7.3bn or 9% more than a year ago. Trade surplus topped EUR 155m and the exports-to-imports ratio was 102%, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.
