Remarkable comeback after almost a year without competing.

The STA reports January 28, 2018, that- Daniela Iraschko-Stolz of Austria won the women's ski jumping event in Ljubno ob Savinji on Sunday, in what is a remarkable comeback after an absence of almost a year.

The holder of the Ljubno hill record, the 34-year-old Iraschko-Stolz defeated overall World Cup winner, Maren Lundby of Norway, with jumps 89 and 89.5 metres. Katharina Althaus of Germany was third.

The best Slovenian was Ema Klinec in ninth place, with three others among the finalists.

Lundby remains firmly in the lead in the World Cup rankings with 860 points, 280 points ahead of Althaus. The Japanese Sara Takanashi is in third at 530 points.

The event wrapped up a two-day World Cup meet in Ljubno. Yesterday Lundby won ahead of Althaus and Takanashi.
