Strong winds were experienced across the country this Wednesday, particularly in Upper and Inner Carniola (Gorenjska, Notranjska), Styria (Štajerska) and some other Slovenian regions. Around 7,000 people in Maribor area have been left without electricity due to wind damage in the Maribor area, while in Kranj the wind tore the roofs of a shopping centre and school.

The areas most affected by falling trees and unroofed houses were in the Gorenjska municipalities of Kranj, Cerklje, Šenčur, Tržič and Radovljica. Police are asking citizens to approach their roof repairs with caution.

In Celje, however, a billboard that stands at the yard of Celje Regional Museum fell on a 22-year old German student while she was reading from it. According to MMC reports, she suffered some serious injuries.
