STA, 8 May 2018 - Prices of diesel and regular petrol at the pump outside motorways increased at midnight Monday to hit the highest levels since November 2014 and July 2015, respectively.

Regular will be 2.4 cents costlier at 1.351 euro a litre and diesel will go up by 2.5 cents to 1.296 euro a litre, according to the Economy Ministry.

The last time regular cost about as much was in July 2015 at 1.353 euro a litre, while diesel has not been sold that high since November 2014 when it cost 1.332 euro a litre.

Prices of premium and prices of all fuels sold at motorway service stations are set independently by retailers, while prices of regular and diesel elsewhere in the country are regulated by the government.

Administrated fuel prices are adjusted every two weeks factoring in the price of oil on Mediterranean markets, the euro-dollar exchange rate and biofuel prices.
