EuroBasket’s winning team continues to draw attention.

STA, 9 August 2018 - Jaka Blažič, a 28-year-old Slovenia shooting guard, has been signed by Barcelona on a one-year contract. He is the second member of the team that won the 2017 EuroBasket to join one of Spain's top basketball clubs, after Klemen Prepelič moved to Real Madrid.

In the last season, Blažič played for Andorra, and before that for the Spanish team Baskonia, Serbia's Crvena Zvezda and Slovenia's Union Olimpija, Geoplin Slovan and Triglav.

In his 116 EuroLeague games so far he has averaged 7.4 points per game.

Other Slovenian ballers to have played for Barcelona before Blažič, were Boštjan Nachbar, Jaka Lakovič and Erazem Lorbek.

Blažič was on the Slovenian national team in the 2013 EuroBasket in Slovenia, and then went to be part of the team that won the championship in Turkey in September last year. He also played for Slovenia in the 2014 World Championships in Spain.

Blažič's move to Barcelona was made official by the Spanish club on Thursday.
