The Kengurujčki Society for Disabled, who relies mostly on donations, is now paying the price for sharing a name with a child care centre under police investigation for child abuse.

Kengurujčki (Little Kangaroos) daycare centre in Ig is currently under police investigation for child abuse, after one of its staff filmed the mistreatment, wihe the childcare facility then found to have been operating illegally.

Now another organisation with a similar name, the Kengurujček (Little Kangaroo) Disabled Society, is paying a price for being associated with the kindergarten, as it is losing the donors on which it depends.

Kengurujček Disabled Society was founded by parents of children with congenital and acquired disorders of the digestive tract, including anorectal atresia, Hirschprung's disease, hypoplasia and atresia of the small intestine, short-chain syndrome, ezophagous atresia, Mb. Crohn, and ulcerative colitis, as well as for young transplant patients.

The purpose of the society is in providing mutual support, assistance, and networking for its members – thus facilitating the achievement of more rights, first for the parents and later for the child in the areas of health and social care, employment and participation in drafting of related legislation.

In a pursuit of these goals, the Society mostly relies on sponsorships and donations, which have now ceased to arrive because, as the Society believes, they are now being associated with aforementioned child abuse scandal.

The Kengurujček Disabled Society has therefore issued a public statement in an attempt to disassociate itself from the Kengurujčki Daycare Center, asking the media and the public to spread the word about this and bring back the donors they need in order to sustain their operations.
