A storm over Lake Bled Saturday afternoon saw lightning strike a public “beach” and, according to multiple media reports, throw about twenty people into the air, injuring at least five.

Police reports indicate that the more seriously injured included a heaviily pregnant Slovenian woman and her six-year old daughter, both of whom had to be resuscitated, along with a German man, with these three requiring medical attention. No one was directly hit, but instead they were sheltering underneath trees that was struck by the lightning.

Bad weather also caused floods at Brezje, Grosuplje and Rogaška Slatina, while strong winds caused problems at Smarje-Sap.
